Is Fall Here Yet?

With fall still around the corner you would have thought by today's weather that it was already here. Which makes me really excited! For the past oh I would say 2 weeks I have been trying to think of every reason to decorate for fall. I love the feeling of the fall decorations around the house. It makes it feel all warm and cozy. Fall is one of my favorite time of year I would have to say (I think when every season changes I say it is my favorite season. Mostly, I think when it the season do change I am ready for a change). Cool crisp temperatures, gorgeous fall leaves, yummy soups, the holiday's begin, home decorations, and just the feeling of the season. Oh and did I forget to mention hunting. I better add that to the list too just in case Jon reads this. He would consider that the best part of fall.

In trying to hold off in putting up my fall decoration I have come up with a few projects to do before that happens. The first one I wasn't planning on until I hit up the Dollar Store. My mom and I was browsing there one day and saw they had their fall flowers out. We both started to put a bouquet together. Needless to say as we walked throughout the store in the end I ended up with a bouquet in a vase.

Now the task was taking it home and actually putting it together and making it look divine.

Here is what I started with... A variety of flowers, vase, ribbon, and bark from a tree.

And here is the end result...

So for around $12 I was able to create this gorgeous fall bouquet. I got everything except for the bark at the Dollar Store. I was able to snag the bark from a dead tree in my parents back yard. I broke it into piece's and lined the inside of the vase with it. I wish you could see it better in the picture but in person you can really see the bark. Not to shabby for my first time putting something like this together.

Now on to the next project... When I am done with that one I will share it too with you. It is also going to be simple and cheap!

Yummy Shrimp Pasta Dinner

A few nights ago I made this yummy shrimp pasta dinner. The inspiration and recipe came from a Health magazine that Jon got in the mail. Let me tell you this was divine!!! I think we may have this weekly for a while it was so good. It was so good I had to share the recipe. Also the best part about is that it is HEALTHY!!!
Shrimp Pasta Dinner (Serves 2)
1/2 Zucchini
1/2 Yellow Squash
1/4 C Red Onion
1/2 C Mushrooms
30 Shrimp
3 oz Whole Wheat Spaghetti Pasta
4 tbls Parmesan Cheese
Cook pasta as directed by the box and then set aside. Cut up the zucchini, yellow squash, red onion, and mushrooms into bite size pieces. Saute all of these in the same pan until tender. Add the shrimp and cook until warm.
Split your pasta between two plates, top with shrimp and vegetable mix, and finally top that with the parmesan cheese.
And enjoy!!!
Note: In the future I probably will add some seasoning or marinate to the shrimp and vegetable mix for different flavor.

Is it really Jacob?

This last week me and a couple of co-workers went to lunch at Braza Grill on State Street. If you haven't ever been to Braza Grill it is a must try! If you like Rodizio Grill you will love Braza Grill with a cheaper check at the end of dinner/lunch.

Anyways, to get the really story of this post. We were enjoying our amazing food that you just drool over when you take each bite, when one of my co-workers said "Hey, doesn't that server (the server being the one that brings all the yummy meat around) look like Jacob from Twilight?" I hadn't really even looked, but when I did I had to take a second look. It really was Jacob!!! Jacob here in Salt Lake City working at Braza Grill. How could that be I thought? For about the next 10 minutes or so we kept staring at him and pointing. He probably thought that we were crazy loonies that decided to stop in for lunch. After him coming to our table 2 or 3 more times to offer us some juicy meat and inpecting him so more someone finally spoke up and said "Do you know you look like Jacob from Twilight?" He smiled with a little chuckle and said "Some girls told me that yesterday and wanted a picture." Once he said that I was like "Yep and your getting a picture with me too."

After we stuffed ourselves so full that we pretty much had to roll out of there I kindly asked him for a picture (not to mention there was a little peer pressure to get one). I forewarned him that if a whole bunch of girls came screaming in it was because I blogged about it.

What do you think? Jacob or not?

Twilight Jacob

Braza Grill Jacob Honestly, in person he really looked more true to Jacob.

Kennecott Copper Mine (Rio Tinto)

About a month ago we decided to go visit the visitor's center at the Kennecott Copper Mine or now known as Rio Tinto. If some of you don't know this is also where Jon works. He drives the big trucks around every now and then when he's not doing other stuff.

I have been there a few times through my life but I think that I have forgotten just how big all the equipment is that is up there. It's like a whole city up there. From down in the valley you would never know what goes on up there until you visit it. It was really nice because I had my very own personal guide to tell me about everything. Jon explained to me how everything works, where they are doing blasting, where they are rebuilding roads, and how the shovels work.

I was excited to take Landon to so he could see where his daddy works. Although he probably didn't understand most of it I can say that we took him there.

Here are a few pictures that we took while we were up there. Note: I took these picture on my mom and dad's camera.
