A little of this and a little of that

Last Saturday was a busy day. The funny thing about it is that I didn't have any plans for Saturday when Friday rolled around. It was one of those days that was last minute lets do this and now do that.

First my sister, Landon and I met up with some friends from work at Snowbird. They were offering free tram rides if you donated food to the food bank. What a better cause to donate to and receive free entertainment. I have been there before and loved it. It is something fun and different to do. There was some amazing views from the top of the mountain. At first I was a little worried about Landon. It seems the night before he didn't feel good. Yep, them good old molars are breaking through. On a side note it was a sleepless night for both my sister and I (we had a sleep over since Jon was working). I didn't know what the altitude would do to his ears and mouth. He was drooling everywhere! For the most part he did pretty good other than he was in some pain. I gave him so good meds before we went! If you want to ride the tram they are doing it again this weekend. See my post below.

After snowbird we decided to met up with my mom, two aunts, and cousin at Gardner Village. They are currently having their Witch Fest right now. It is decorated so cute! They can take everyday clothes put them on a witch and say "Ta da". So cute!

After Gardner Village we headed home to met Jon once he woke up. After sitting on the couch watching absolutely nothing on TV Jon, my sister, and I decided to go to a haunted house. A haunted house... I can't remember that last time that I went to one. Ummmm I'm thinking maybe high school. And no I'm not telling you how long ago that was cause I am old! Anyhow, we decided to go to the Haunted Mansion. First off let me tell you this. I hate scary movies, being scared, and haunted houses. So yes I was a little nervous but I kept telling myself this is all made up and not real. Don't believe it! I do have to admit that it wasn't that bad. I think the worse part was the section with the mental patients. Freaky... The funny part about the adventure is that when we were going through the chain saw part they totally touched my leg with the bar of the chain saw. Yep, I felt it on my calf. I just laughed to myself.

All in all a pretty good but busy day. It was nice to not have plans but do some fun stuff. I have posted some pictures from the day below. Oh I love my cute little Landon.

AMAZING Country Apple Dumplings

A couple of nights ago I clicked on this blog and they had a recipe for Country Apple Dumplings. Yummm the picture looked so good and so easy. So off to Wal-Mart I went to make a special trip to get the ingredients.

All I can say is that is was heaven. I got vanilla ice cream to go with it and with the warm dumpling with the cold ice cream.... HEAVEN. I could have ate the whole pan but luckily I didn't.

Thank goodness I stumbled across this recipe or maybe it's a bad thing. I am trying to find an excuse or occasion to make it again. LOL! For the complete recipe click here. Thank you Utah Deal Diva!

Jon's Elk

This last week we went hunting for Jon's Elk. It was a pretty fun trip other than it was about 90 degrees everyday. We thought that we were hunting in July instead of October. Usually its snowing by now. Anyways while Jon was off hunting Landon had tons of fun playing in the dirt with his cousins and seeing what the outdoors offer. It absolutely loved it! He wanted to be outside every minute he possible could.

Jon was really excited this year to go on his hunt. After a couple of months preparing for the hunt it was finally here. It was a really hard hunt this year being that the weather was so hot. The elk don't like the hot weather so they were seeking cooler temperatures high up in the mountains. Which was not ideal being that these mountains were steep rocky mountains. You would have to be a rock climber to attempt to climb these mountains. Finally one night it cooled off a bit and the elk started down the mountain to some hay fields. That next morning is when Jon got his first elk.
