I should of posted pictures of Landon when he was born first but I had to post this right away. I promise I will get pictures of him up asap.
So if you haven’t heard Landon is really colic. Most all day but come 5 or 6 at night it is at it’s worst. I try everything to get him to settle down and stop crying. Let’s see what have we tried? With starters we have tried the pacifier, rocking, holding him really close, singing (which by me is probably not good anyways), the swing, and the bouncy chair. That is just to name a few. Usually if you hold him in front of you and rock him back and forth he will stop crying. Well tonight that didn’t even work. Yesterday at the doctors office he told me to put him in his car seat and put him on the dry and turn it on and that should be just like riding in a car. That is when my mom said she has even heard of people turning on the vacuum and letting it run.
So tonight when I couldn’t get him to settle down. I started to walk around the house and bounce him. We took a tour of his room, which for a while worked until he realized he wasn’t crying and then it would start all over again. Then we headed for the office for the grand tour. I knew that there wouldn’t be much to look at but hey it was a room to walk into. So in the room we went and that is when the best invention yet stuck out like a sore thumb and was calling my name. The VACUUM!!!! I though hey it is worth a shot at this point. So I plugged it in and turned it on and Landon instantly stopped crying; yes stopped completely like you turned a switch off. So I then proceeded to vacuum the office followed by Landon’s room, the hallway, and into the loft. By the time I got into the loft I set him down in his bouncy chair so I could move stuff out of the way and he fell a sleep just like that. I could not believe it and thought man maybe I really could get some housework done. After I was done vacuuming I started to write this. The sleeping didn’t last to long maybe 10 minutes. So that is when I started to vacuum the stairs. So far he is content and aunt Shauna just showed up to love him and give me a well deserved break. I don’t know how much of a break it will be but I will probably just finish cleaning house and water the trees and plants outside since they are looking a little neglected.
So to all you mom's out there that have a colic baby just simply turn on the vacuum. The bonus is that you can actually get house work done too. Next time I will try the dry and let you know if it works.
